What is a video template?
The exact prompt behind a real clip, with the replaceable words highlighted. Change those words and generate, or keep them to reproduce the clip.
Does remixing a template cost anything?
No. Opening and editing a template is free; you pay only when you press Generate, and the price is shown first.
Can I submit my own template?
Yes, from a claimed personal account: within 24 hours of a text-to-video clip finishing, choose Submit as template in History and mark the words people can replace. Approved templates join the library with your credit.
How much does a video cost?
Each model is priced per second of finished video, and the Studio shows the total before you press Generate, from $0.041 for 4 seconds on Seedance v1.0 Pro Fast. A failed video costs nothing.
How long is my video kept?
The MP4 can be downloaded for 24 hours after it finishes, so save the ones you want to keep.
Can I generate videos from code?
Yes. The same models answer POST /v1/videos with an API key, and the OpenAI SDK's videos methods work unchanged. Video API docs
